He renews my soul

February 12, 2008

Titus 3:5 – 7 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Isn’t that an awesome message from our God? How many times have we tried to earn our own salvation and fallen so hopelessly short? The only thing that does is to either build self righteousness or to keep us from our Daddy God and His Church. I praise Him that He has delivered me and rescued me His own prodigal daughter. Now we all know that faith without works is dead, but how incredible is it that our salvation is not based on anything that we have or will do!

I am so joyful today. This weekend my husband and I had the occasion to witness personally people living their faith. By the Grace of God, through some very loving people, Ronan is able to go the Chesapeake Covenants Church’s Men’s retreat in just over a week’s time. We thank you and God from the bottom of our hearts.

God is Good. He knows that my husband needs this time of renewal. He is looking forward to meeting and making strong bonds of friendship with other men of the church who will encourage him in Biblical Manhood. Now I know he will also just have a great time.

I am so excited for him. What a great time of delving into our Loving Father’s plan for his life. Of course His timing is perfect. Ronan will be going into the second phase of the multiphase process of becoming a state trooper the following Monday. What better preparation than to spend time with God and friends before times such as that?? Keeping his eyes above and worrying less about temporal ordeals.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

As an offshoot of this I know these few days apart will have such a spiritual reward for our own relationship. I look forward to growing not only as husband and wife but as spiritual partners. This will only help as Christians, spouses, and parents. Kind of like trickle down economics, but not exactly haha 😉

Great verses. Ronan should introduce himself to my hubby, Josh, who will be there. He’ll be leading worship.

I will definitely direct him that way. Thanks. 🙂
